Båstadgruppen acquires Hawedo and establishes a presence in Benelux

Båstadgruppen AB has acquired Hawedo B.V., an established supplier of personal protective equipment based in Dongen, the Netherlands. Hawedo has been a close business partner of Båstadgruppen for many years, and through the acquisition, Båstadgruppen strengthens its presence in Europe and takes an important step into the Benelux market.

Hawedo has been in business for 80 years and offers work gloves, safety footwear, workwear and other personal protective equipment. Its portfolio includes both its own brand, Proway Protection, and products from several well-known external brands. Båstadgruppen has long been an important supplier to Hawedo, meaning that the two companies already know each other well and have an established business relationship.

The acquisition is a natural next step in Båstadgruppen’s continued development. Through Hawedo, Båstadgruppen gains its own sales channel and a local presence in Benelux, while Hawedo’s customers will, over time, gain access to a broader offering of products and brands.

For Båstadgruppen, the acquisition also creates further opportunities to develop the company’s existing brands and products in the European market. At the same time, Hawedo brings extensive experience and particularly strong expertise in gloves, purchasing and category management.

Hawedo’s former owners, Susanne van der Wee, Finance & HR, and Bart van der Wee, Purchasing & Category Manager, will remain with the company following the acquisition.

The acquisition of Hawedo was completed on October 16, 2026.
