Båstadgruppen’s Monitor Brand Introduces First-Ever Smart Safety Shoes

Monitor is launching the world’s first smart safety shoe, developed in collaboration with safety technology company Quin. The shoe uses advanced sensors to detect falls and automatically send alerts in emergency situations.

Monitor, a brand within Båstadgruppen and a recognised name in Sweden’s work and safety footwear sector, is known for combining the robustness and functionality of traditional safety boots with the comfort and design of sports and outdoor footwear. Now, the brand is set to become the first in the world to incorporate smart technology into its safety footwear – marking a new chapter in the evolution of workplace safety. The shoes have been developed in partnership with Quin, an innovative safety technology company specialising in connected safety systems that transform passive protective equipment into intelligent solutions.

The smart work shoe is set to launch in autumn 2025 and features several cutting-edge capabilities, all accessible via a dedicated app. With Quin’s intelligent technology, the shoe is able to monitor movement patterns to detect falls or abnormal incidents. In the event of an incident, it automatically sends an alert to three designated emergency contacts, including the user’s status and real-time location. The technology also includes Quin’s ResQ feature, which enables integration with emergency services, sharing critical data to help ensure the fastest and most appropriate response. Additionally, the user can store their medical ID and other essential information directly within the shoe, allowing on-site responders to quickly access the data in an emergency.
